 Three Kings Parade
January 5th.
January 6th is when Christmas is traditionally celebrated in Spain, and of course, like everything else, they celebrate it in style in
Sitges. A parade lead by the arrival of the 3 Kings sets off from Plaza Fragata in front of the church, the night before.
 Carnival
January 31st to February 6th.
For over 100 years, Sitges has been celebrating between the months of February and March, according to the liturgical calendar - Carnestoltes, or Carnival. The festivities begin with the arrival of King Carnestoltes. From the moment this character appears on the scene until the burial of the sardine, 6 days later, Sitges goes crazy with activity. The two most important moments of Sitges Carnival are the Rua de la Disbauxa, or the Debauchery Parade, on Sunday night and the Rua de l‘Extermini, or Extermination Parade, on Tuesday night. Some forty-odd floats with more than 2,000 participants leave a jam-packed Sitges completely awe stricken.
The Sitges Gay Carnival is on the 4 days before Sitges Carnival begins. It's a series of events including La noche rosa - Pink night, Noche de las mantillas - traditional Spanish head wear worn at weddings & funerals, Noche de las touristas - Tourists night & Noche de las viudas - Widows night. If you've never been, although it can be pretty cold, so bring a cardie, it's actually when Sitges is at it's busiest. All of the bars, restaurants, shops etc., open during carnival.

San Juan June 23rd.
Midsummer in Catalonia is celebrated with a big bang, as fireworks fill the sky in a prelude to the national holiday of the Feast of John the Baptist. Each neighbourhood stages fireworks and all night bonfires are fueled by collections of old furniture, but the biggest celebration is at Monjuice in Barcelona, with a fabulous firework display and a colossal bonfire. It's well worth a trip to Barcelona for this one, to watch the fireworks, then go on to the biggest gay beach party of the year!

 Fiesta Mayor.
Fiesta Mayor 2008 August 21st to 27th. (Firework display on the 23rd.)
This carnival is worth seeing! 'Fiesta Mayor' means 'Main Carnival', and it really is! The total disrespect for safety is what makes it so exciting. Fire crackers are being lit left, right and center and aimed in every direction. The dragons which have fire crackers in their mouths even chase you! You'll see most people are wearing straw hats, that's to make sure their eyes don't get burned out!

A warning to local businesses. Do not under any circumstances give credit to Inga Hukovic (Bosnian) or her husband Juan Morales (Spanish), of the Independent Film Academy (IFA). They have unpaid debts to three local businesses to the sum of over 20,000€, dating back to the 2007 film festival.
