Last
night was Atlántida disco's first gay night of the year and what
a superb night is was to party in the open air. We had a low of 21ºC
last nigth. Every Tuesday from now until September is the Gay Beach Party
night. Don't miss it, its a lot of fun dancing under the stars. See the
Discos
page. |

Now
its officially over 700 visitors a day to GaySitges.com!!! - And that's
just plain rediculous!
Where
on Earth are you all coming from? Those numbers wouldn't surprise me if
it was a guide to a major city like Madrid
or Barcelona, but so many visitors
to a fishing village is quite incredible! Thank you lads, it means the
world to me that this web site is so popular. My heart and soul go into
it and I hope you get something out of it too.
Talking
about big cities, I am going to be visiting Spain's Las
Vegas in August, so I'll be doing a huge update to that guide, with
lots and lots of photos. Its 25 years since I was last there, and it was
in fact my first ever time in Spain, and what made me want to live here.
I suspect its changed a bit since then.
Talking
about staying power, its Trailer disco's 28th
year this year, which was (as they say) the first gay disco in Spain, but
I have to wonder, 'cos I remember going to a gay disco in Benidorm 25 years
ago, and I'm sure it wasn't new when I went. Maybe they mean its the oldest
'running' gay disco in Spain? I'll have to find out.
Talking
about first's, did you know that Sitges Playa del
Muerto was the first gay nudist beach in the world? Bet Santiago Rusiñol
was there ;-)

¡Campeones
ohe!
Spain
won the European football cup last night. Their first international win
in 44 years! ¡Viva España!
Did
you watch it? It was so funny. The Spanish team were half the size (height)
of the German team and they ran under their legs, grabbed 'em by the balls,
and scored big time!
Even
though its not in Spain, (well maybe technically it is) Sitges celebrated
in its own special way too :-)

The
August like 30ºC+ temperatures we're having are continuing and look
set to continue for the coming week. With such high temps and strong sun,
make sure you put a high factor sun tan oil on and don't stay in the sun
too long. Sunlight blinds us to the colour red, which is why we don't see
ourselves burning, until we get back to the hotel and our eyes re-adjust
to indirect light. If you hear someone call you a 'gamba', you'll know
you stayed in the sun too long. Gamba is Spanish for shrimp - its what
the Spanish call you when you're sun burned, rather than tomato. |

We
ate out at Margarita Beachfront
restaurant on Friday night, and I have to compliment them on their excellent
chicken curry, which is new on their menu. Next time I'll be trying their,
also new, Thai fish cakes. Can't imagine what they're like, but if the
curry is anything to go by, they'll be delish. The restaurant also has
a new look for 2008. |

Go Spain!
 Spain
is into the European final against Germany on Sunday for the first time
in 24 years, after beating Russia 3-0 last night.
 Daniel
wishes to thank all of his customers, however he is no longer doing massages.
He has been training for a new career, which he is now dedicating his time
to. He also wanted me to mention (which I'm obviously more than happy to
do) that if there is anyone else in Sitges offering a masseur service,
his ad on this page brought him an average of 2 clients per day. That is
100€ in business per day for a mere 50€ per month ad'!!!
 On
the subject of advertising, I (Gaz) am not a salesman and I don't solicit
business for this web site, other than the odd plug in this blog now and
then. Everyone who has an ad' in GaySitges.com or any of my other
guides, has contacted me, and they will all tell you they are very glad
they did. I may not be a good businessman and I know I make a hopeless
sales rep, but what I am damned good at is getting visitors to my guides
because of 10 years experience in the cut-throat online gay porn business,
where only the strong survive. I don't do the gay porn anymore, but what
I learned from those 10 years is how to attract the right people to the
right web sites. Put an ad' in GaySitges.com and I guarantee I'll
send you more business than any other guide to Sitges does, whether that
is an online guide, a magazine or whatever.
 We
had a couple of good thunder storms last night, which we all knew were
coming, because yesterday was unbearably hot with dead still air. Made
for a lovely beach day, but the problem was when you had to put your clothes
on, they stuck to you. Today is hot but comfortable :-) |
